Gastroparesis meal plan, soft, small, steady.
Gastroparesis slows the stomach, so soft, low-fat, low-fiber meals in smaller amounts are easier to handle. These seven days run about 1,600 calories in four small meals. Alma can fit it to your goal.
Built from NIDDK gastroparesis guidance.

Gastroparesis with diabetes needs blood sugar care from your team, because food timing changes glucose. Vomiting that will not stop, or weight falling without a reason, needs a clinician.

Questions
What people ask
What can you eat with gastroparesis?
Soft, well-cooked food that is low in fat and low in fiber: white rice, pasta, potatoes, cream of wheat, grits, soft bread, lean chicken or fish, eggs, low-fat dairy, smooth soups, smoothies, bananas and canned fruit. NIDDK also suggests liquid nutrition or puréed food if solids are hard.
How many meals a day should you eat with gastroparesis?
NIDDK suggests five or six small meals a day rather than two or three large ones. This plan is written as four meals, so split any of them in half and spread them out. Smaller amounts at a time are easier for a slow stomach to move along.
Are smoothies good for gastroparesis?
They can be, especially on a day when solid food feels like too much. Keep them low in fat and strain out seeds or skins. A smoothie with yogurt, milk and soft fruit carries protein and fluid at once, which helps when appetite is small.
Why is fiber limited on a gastroparesis diet?
Fiber slows the stomach further and can make pain, bloating and fullness worse. NIDDK lists high-fiber food among the things to avoid. The days here run about 10 to 15 grams of fiber, with soft grains, cooked vegetables and canned or soft fruit rather than raw vegetables, skins, seeds or nuts.
Can you drink coffee with gastroparesis?
Coffee is not on the NIDDK list of things to avoid, but it bothers some people, and fizzy drinks and alcohol are on the list. Try a small cup after a meal rather than on an empty stomach and note how it feels. Skip it if it brings on nausea or fullness.
How many calories is this meal plan?
About 1,540 to 1,650 calories a day, with about 80 to 95 grams of protein and 10 to 15 grams of fiber. Some people need more and some need less, and your team can set a target. If you cannot finish a meal, take the protein and fluids first.
How can Alma help with gastroparesis?
Log a small meal by photo, voice or text in about 10 seconds, which is quick when you are eating little and often. Each meal gets an Alma Score from 0 to 100, drawing on Harvard's Alternate Healthy Eating Index, and Alma shows the fiber and fat in it. Alma builds a plan around your goal and the foods you like.
