Alkaline meal plan, plant food first.
The alkaline diet is built on vegetables, fruit, beans, nuts and whole grains, with less processed meat and sugar. Here is a week at about 1,650 calories a day, and the honest story on pH. Alma can fit it to your goal.
Built from Cleveland Clinic and Dietary Guidelines advice.

The rules
Three things this plan gets right
Your body keeps its own pH
Your kidneys and lungs manage blood pH. Food does not change it.
Plants take up most of the plate
Vegetables, fruit, beans and nuts at most meals, with fish and eggs.
Less processed meat and sugar
Deli meat, soda and sweets are now and then, not daily.

Questions
What people ask
Does the alkaline diet change your blood pH?
No. Cleveland Clinic explains that your body keeps blood pH steady on its own and nothing you eat will change it. Urine pH does shift with food, but Cleveland Clinic says it tells you nothing about your health or the quality of your diet.
What can you eat on the alkaline diet?
Alkaline diets are built around vegetables, fruit, beans, nuts and whole grains. This week does that, adds fish and eggs, and keeps processed meat and added sugar low. Cleveland Clinic notes that strict versions can leave you short on protein and other nutrients, so this plan keeps protein at every meal.
Is the alkaline diet safe?
A week of vegetables, fruit, beans, whole grains and fish is close to the Harvard Healthy Eating Plate. The risk is in strict versions that cut out whole food groups. If you have kidney disease or take medicine, ask your clinician before you change how you eat.
How many calories is this meal plan?
About 1,650 calories a day, with days between 1,625 and 1,700. Protein runs 68 to 102 grams and fiber 30 to 45 grams. Your needs depend on your size, age and activity, so scale portions up or down. The calorie calculator gives you a starting number.
What is on an alkaline diet food list?
Vegetables, fruit, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, whole grains and plant oils. Fish, eggs and tofu fit in this plan. The foods to keep small are processed meat, soda, sweets and salty packaged snacks, which matches the Harvard Healthy Eating Plate and the Dietary Guidelines.
Is the pH idea behind the alkaline diet true?
Not the main part. Cleveland Clinic says the central promise, changing your body's pH through food, is not based on scientific fact. What is left is a plant-heavy plan with fewer processed foods, and that is the reason to eat this way.
How do I check that my meals are varied enough?
Log each meal in Alma by photo, voice or text in about 10 seconds. Every meal gets an Alma Score from 0 to 100, drawing on Harvard's Alternate Healthy Eating Index, which rewards the vegetables, fruit and beans this plan leans on. The plant diversity calculator counts how many different plants you eat in a week.
