How it works

Alma scales stored USDA FoodData Central values by grams divided by 100. Portions use the selected food's own gram weight. The breakdown shows the nutrients available in that entry and its values per 100 g. Displayed values are rounded. Alma describes food amounts; for medical nutrition advice, ask a clinician or dietitian.

Common questions

Why can't Alma find a food?

The search covers a fixed list of checked foods. Alma does not return a nutrition result for a name outside that list. The form links to the browsable food database for more foods.

Which portion should I use?

The form shows the selected food's USDA description and its portion weight. Match the raw or cooked description to the food you weighed. You can enter grams directly.

Does a missing nutrient mean zero?

No. Alma shows only nutrient values stored for that entry. An unavailable value stays unknown, and a recorded zero stays zero.
